Wide variety of colors

RecScreen® fabrics are technical fabrics designed to control solar radiation, made of PVC coated polyester yarns.

RecScreen® is the perfect solution for a wide range of indoor and outdoor curtains, awnings, and shading elements.

The RecScreen® fabric is designed to:

  • Filter sunlight, reducing glare effect.
  • Increase privacy, allowing outward visibility.
  • Energy-saving, reducing air conditioning consumption.
  • Avoid fading of interior decorative fabrics (upholstery, carpets, etc.).

RecScreen® fabric effect on the transmitted solar radiation depends on:

  • Fabric mesh weight, defined by its Opening Factor (OF).
  • Fabric thickness.
  • Fabric color.

RecScreen 3500P

Screen fabric made of thin yarns with Panama weave (mat 2/2). It is the lightest range product with an upper-middle (5%) opening. Its construction makes it the most transparent, with a good balance between the outer vision and visual comfort, valid with a common solar radiation. It is suitable for any application indoor and outdoor without tension. His extensive color range makes it ideal in any environment.

RecScreen 4000P

Screen fabric made of thin yarns with Panama weave (mat 2/2). It is a product with a very low openness factor (1%) which provides very good protection against solar radiation, providing great privacy outwards. Very technical fabric, it is designed to achieve high energy savings. Its compact structure is very stable, allowing it to withstand the tension. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor.

RecScreen 5000P

Screen fabric made of thick yarns with Panama weave (mat 2/2). It has a medium-high openness factor (10%), which provides a good visual comfort while allowing an adequate outside view. It is a product specially designed to use in curtains and large spaces. Its open structure and weight fits perfectly. It is suitable for any application without tensions, both indoors and outdoors.

RecScreen 6000

Screen fabric made of thick yarns with twill weave, two sided, and a pattern of diagonal ribs that increase strength. This characteristic is enhanced by the use of warps and wefts of different colors. It has an average openess factor (2%) allowing air permeability, favoring ventilation and therefore the thermal stability of the room. It is a fabric with excellent performance for its dimensional stability even under tension, very strong and heavy. It is suitable for any application both interior and exterior, including large curtains, ZIP and awnings.

RecScreen 7000

Screen fabric made of thin yarns with twill weave, two sided, and a pattern of diagonal ibs that increase strength. It has an average openness factor (3%). Twill weave is structurally stable and lighter, allowing the making of all types of products indoor and outdoor. It is particularly suitable for curtains and large awnings.

RecScreen CRISTAL

TScreen fabric made of thin yarns with Panama weave (mat 2/2). The use of screen yarns with transparent PVC brings a touch of avant-garde aesthetic, getting a metallic effect. The transparency of glass thread enables higher brightness for the same degree of openness than a conventional screen type 3500P.

RecScreen DIAMANTE

Screen fabric made of thin yarns with fantasy weave. It has a medium-high level of openness factor (5%) and is suitable for any outdoor application free of tension, although mainly oriented to interior decoration, creating a warm atmosphere. Its original design and pattern makes it a different screen, providing a warmer atmosphere to any interior.

RecScreen® yarns composition

RecScreen® fabrics are made of PVC-coated high tenacity polyester yarns.

Those yarns are manufactured in our facilities located in Sant Jordi de Cercs (Barcelona) and woven in our factory in La Pobla de Montornés (Tarragona), controlling the manufacturing process and applying criteria for quality assurance.

In RECASENS we use two types of yarn, one thick and one thin, which combined, allow to achieve different openness factor and textures, which makes RecScreen® fabrics highly versatile, ideal for making different types of curtains, awnings, roller blinds for inside and outside applications.

Advantages of RecScreen® yarns

All RecScreen® fabrics are made of high tenacity polyester yarns which has significant advantages over the common fiberglass yarn:

  • Polyester yarn is more flexible than fiberglass yarn. Polyester screen yarn have a higher resistance to bending and torsion than the fiberglass screen yarn, for this reason, polyester screen fabric never breaks by fatigue.
  • High tenacity polyester yarn ensures a perfect fixing of PVC. PVC and polyester by having similar elastic behavior versus temperature, rather than fiberglass and PVC, do not cause the appearance of fringes in core yarn cut.

Advantages RecScreen® fabrics

  • High mechanical strength, both tensile and tear.
  • Excellent weather resistance. Fabric does not degrade and perfectly holds color.
  • The yarn used in the manufacture is from cylindrical section, achieving an excellent rolled performance, preventing lateral displacement of the fabric.
  • Fabric is absolutely odorless.
  • Easy handling. Allows bend and weave, shaping the fabric without leaving marks.
  • High memory. The resilience of RecScreen® always offer an unbeatable initial appearance.
  • Excellent shear behavior. The RecScreen® structure does not fray. It can be cut with cutting machines “crush-cutting“, ultrasound or laser cutting. The resulting cut is clean and ready to use, so it is not necessary to put reinforcements, hems, or apply any lacquer.
  • Easy welding. Perfect adherence is achieved with all kinds of welding machines. Suitable for joints with sewing machine.
  • Very good dimensional stability.
  • Fireproof. Certified M-1 and CLASS-1 (UNE-EN 13773:2003).
  • Free of lead. Contains no harmful substances to human body.
  • AAnti bacteria and mold resistant due to the special formulation of the PVC coating.
  • Different Openness Factor for optimum regulation of the amount of light entering the interiors. Lower Openness Factor, lower incoming light intensity.
  • Wide range of colors. In addition to its aesthetic function, color plays a technical function because each color absorbs, transmits or reflects light differently, allowing you to adjust the energy balance of the room.
  • Solar Screen. RecScreen® offers high protection to UV harmful rays, varies according to different Openness Factor ,a lower degree of openness entails a greater filtration.
  • Visual comfort. Depending on the Openness Factor and the RecScreen® color chosen, you have control over glare, achieving a beneficial effect on visual comfort, avoiding eye strain.
  • Energy savings in buildings by allowing regulate loss and gain heat and light. The color, thickness and fabric openness, definitely influence the absorption and loss of light and heat. These factors are crucial for reducing the energy consumption of air conditioning and heating.
  • Ventilation. The RecScreen® woven fabric allows air permeability, preventing the formation of a hot air cushion between the glass and the shade or under the awning.
  • Three meters width. This measure permits a better use of the RecScreen®, fabric, with fewer welds and significant savings in labor.

Maintenance of the RecScreen® fabrics

The RecScreen® sfabrics are easy to maintain. The yarn surface is plastic and has no pores, making it difficult for the dirt to stick, being easy to remove.

Usually you could use a sponge with soapy water, rinse with clean water, and let the fabric dry completely deployed.

If the fabric has a lot of dust, it is preferable to remove it first with a vacuum cleaner (with compressed air, it is also possible to blow on the fabric surface, watching distance to avoid fabric damage). Once the dust is removed, proceed to clean with a sponge in soapy water and then rinse with clean water and let it dry completely deployed.

It is very important to never rub the fabric with solvents or abrasives (metal brushes, powdered detergents, etc.) as these products can damage the yarn surface causing small cracks that allow dirt to accumulate in them, being more difficult to remove.

When cleaning window glasses, is recommended to remove or roll up completely the RecScreen® fabric to prevent splashing of chemicals.

Maintenance for RECACRIL® Marine Canvases

The high-tech finish Infinity Process provides Recacril® RECASENS fabrics with long-lasting protection against mold and mildew excellent water and oil repellency making Recacril® fabrics protect you from both sun and water for many years.

However the accumulation of dust air pollution particles organic materials fatty substances and dirt in general can damage this protection shortening the life of Recacril® fabrics which makes their removal necessary.

The most effective method to keep Recacril® fabrics in good condition is to clean the fabric once a month with a hose with little pressure thus preventing the accumulation and penetration of dirt on the canvas.

It is very important that after cleaning with water the canvas is allowed to dry completely before closing the awning.

If under any circumstance the wet awning had to be closed it should be opened again as soon as possible and allowed to dry completely. In times of heavy rain it is advisable to keep the awnings closed.

If this washing is carried out periodically with water in most environments it will only be necessary to do a more in depth cleaning process every 2 or 3 years.

Normal cleaning:
  1. Brush the dirt with a very soft brush. NEVER brush with hard brushes since they damage the protective treatment of the fabric.
  2. Spray the awning fabric with clean water. If a hose is used, avoid using high pressure.
  3. Prepare a solution of neutral soap in warm water (no more than 40° C) and apply it on the fabric.
  4. Rub with a soft brush allowing the solution to penetrate the fabric.
  5. Rinse with plenty of clean water to remove all soap residue.
  6. Let dry in the open air and do not roll up the awning until the fabric is completely dry.

If the stains persist, it will be necessary to perform a more intense cleaning following the following procedure:

Intensive cleaning:
  1. Brush the dirt with a very soft brush. NEVER brush with hard brushes since they damage the fabric finish.
  2. Prepare a solution with 10% household bleach, 20% neutral soap (solvent free) and 70% water.
  3. Apply the solution on the fabric, allowing it to act for a maximum of 15-20 minutes.
  4. Rinse with plenty of clean water to remove all soapy residue, since if residues of bleach remain in the fabric, with the combined action of the sun, they could end up damaging it.
  5. Let dry in the open air and do not roll up the awning until the fabric is completely dry.
  6. Repeat the above process if necessary.
To protect the environment, be sure to collect dirty water when using bleach, as it can be harmful to people, animals and plants.

Maintenance for RECWATER Canvases

The high technology finish, Infinity Process provides the RECASENS canvases with a long lasting protection against mold and excellent water and oil repellency, making awnings protect you from both sun and water for many years.

However, the accumulation of dust, air pollution particles, foreign organic materials and general dirt can damage this protection, shortening the life of the canvas so they must be eliminated.

The most effective method for maintaining canvases is to clean once a month with water with a low pressure hose, thereby, dirt accumulation into the fabric is avoided.

It is very important that after cleaning with water, the canvas should be completely dry before rolling back the awning.

In case of rain we can leave the awning open, since rain washes dirt. If for any reason you have to roll the wet awning, it must be unrolled as soon as possible and let it dry. In times of continuous rains is advisable to keep the awnings rolled.

If this periodic water washing is done, in most environments, you only need make a process more thorough cleaning every 2 or 3 years.

The steps to follow are:

  1. Brush off excess dust and dirt with a soft brush. NEVER brush with stiff brushes since damage the finish film tissue.
  2. Spray the awning with clean water. If a hose is used, to avoid high pressure.
  3. Prepare a solution of solvent-free soap in warm water (no more than 40ºC) and apply it on the awning, letting penetrate tissue.
  4. Rinse with water to remove all traces of soap.
  5. Let air dry and no wind the awning until the canvas is completely dry.

The RECWATER tarps are protected against the growth of fungi, however, whether fungi can grow on embedded dirt. To clean these stains are needed more intensive cleaning using the following procedure:

  1. Brush off excess dust and dirt with a soft brush. NEVER brush with stiff brushes since damage the finish film tissue.
  2. Prepare a solution with 10% household bleach, 20% of solvent-free neutral detergent and 70% water.
  3. Apply the solution onto the fabric, leaving act between 15 and 20 minutes maximum.
  4. Rinse with clean water several times, as if bleach residues will remain on canvas, with the combined action of the sun, could damage the fabric.
  5. Allow to air dry and no wind the awning until the canvas is completely dry.
  6. Repeat the process if necessary.

To protect the environment, be sure to pick up the dirty water when using bleach as it can be harmful to animals and plants.

Consumer Information

Due to handling during preparation or installation of the awning, some imperfections can occur. These small irregularities such as veining, small folds or whitish streaks are inherent in the nature of acrylic fiber and do not harm the properties of the canvas. Therefore, is not the responsibility of the installer or manufacturer.

Whitish marbled streaks appears on wrinkle formation during the manufacture and installation of the awning. This is caused by an optical effect of different refraction of light. Are minor brands that are appreciated more for transparency. The light colored canvas are more sensitive to the formation of these imperfections than dark colored canvases.

Small folds can appear along the seams by rolling the canvas due to increased thickness of the seam.

Moreover, unlike other articles in the market, the coated side of the RECSYSTEM® Marine canvas does not shine or have a whitish appearance.

RECSYSTEM® Marine canvases perfectly resist the particular conditions of marine environments.

RECSYSTEM® Marine offered in 152 cm wide with a wide range of plain colors ideal for use on boat covers.

The RECSYSTEM® Marine canvases follow a rigorous quality control throughout the manufacturing process, meeting all requirements for obtaining approval of the UNE-EN 13561:2004+A1:2009 (Performance requirements including awnings security).

Antimicrobial Treatment

Rot causing microorganisms, such as molds, algae and bacteria can damage acrylic coated canvases.

To prevent the occurrence of these microorganisms and ensure the quality of our fabrics, RECSYSTEM® Marine canvases are treated with antimicrobial products that offer optimal protection.

Antimicrobials products prevent microorganisms to adhere to the fabric, however, these microorganisms may grow on dirt and other foreign substances if not removed from the fabric. To maximize the lifetime of the RECSYSTEM® Marine canvases is essential to carry out periodic cleaning as described in the Maintenance section.

Maintenance for RECSYSTEM® Marine Canvases

The RECSYSTEM® Marine tarps are protected against the growth of fungi, however, whether fungi can grow on embedded dirt.
